(30.10.25) Coastal Flowers Workshop

DATE: Thursday 30th October 2025

TIME: 10am-3pm (including a break for lunch - please bring your own)

LOCATION: My studio in Corsham, Wiltshire (address will be sent closer to the time)

Only 3 spaces available, so you will receive lots of 1-2-1 guidance!

THE WORKSHOP:

In this workshop, you will create your own glistening seascape textile art, embellished with embroidered flowers, inspired by the coastline.

You will use a range of manipulation techniques, such as heat treating and scouring fabrics to bring added texture to your work. You will layer fabrics onto a base and secure with free motion embroidery to add further detail to the piece.

The final stage will use hand embroidery to add flowers of your choice.

Suitable for those with some experience of free motion machine embroidery who wish to experiment more to produce a textile art seascape.

YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:

Your own sewing machine with an embroidery foot and standard straight stitch foot

A range of mainly sheer / net fabrics (synthetic work better), and loose weave in blues/ greens (there will be an opportunity to add to your piece using a selection of my fabrics too)

Machine threads – white/black for the bobbin and 3 blues/greens (any good quality)

Your usual sewing equipment including sharp scissors, long pins and hand embroidery needles

Embroidery threads in a range of colours (e.g. Sea Pinks, Poppies, Daisies, Crocosmia, Foxgloves)

Please note a base fabric and mount will be provided.
